Applications Open for New Zealand / France Friendship Fund 2018 Grants!

Applications are open for New Zealand / France Friendship Fund 2018 to promote friendship among citizens from both countries. Its purpose is to create and develop strong and lasting relationships between France and New Zealand.

To this end, the Fund offers financial assistance to projects that lead to lasting links, mutual understanding and friendship between the citizens of both countries, especially the youngest among them. It has two committees in New Zealand and France, which meet annually to provide grants for projects that meet the Fund’s objectives.

Projects should encourage ongoing contact and exchanges between the people of France and New Zealand, particularly young people, promote the exchange of information and knowledge about each country, and enhance the understanding of respective lifestyles, cultures and physical environment.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have French nationality or be resident in France (metropolis or French Pacific communities);
The French Committee launches a call for projects for 2018 according to the following criteria:
- Projects should encourage contacts between the two countries, promote exchange of information, and improve mutual understanding;
- Projects must take place in New Zealand, Metropolitan France and / or French Pacific communities;
- Priority is given to projects targeting a broad, high-profile audience and relying on real personal contacts between the two countries;
- Projects may cover all areas of cultural, artistic, sports, educational and historical life (but not limited to these areas). The main criterion is the constructive character of the exchange that the project aims to establish. The themes concerning the shared history between our two countries, France in the Pacific, climate change, educational exchanges will be studied with particular attention;
- Projects must use alternative financing, since the Fund never intends to finance the entire project;
- A project submitted to the French Committee can not be presented to the New Zealand Committee (and vice versa);
- The Fund does not finance projects of a commercial nature and does not intend to perpetuate projects.
