The U.S. Department of State Bureau of Energy Resources (ENR) is currently inviting applications for its U.S.-Morocco Green Growth Climate Challenge with an aim to build local or sub national capacity to mitigate the impacts of climate change through the use of clean energy and energy efficient technology.
The Green Growth Climate Challenge should feature interdisciplinary teams, charged with identifying innovative strategies (policy, business, or technological) to address pre-identified challenge statements. The proposed challenge should aim to promote inclusive approaches that improve local governance and business practices, while also expanding economic opportunities for youth and women.
Funding Information
- ENR anticipates having approximately $400,000 available to support.
- Applications should not request less than$396,000 and no more than $396,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- ENR welcomes applications from U.S.-based and foreign-based non-profit organizations/non government organizations (NGO) and private, public, or state institutions of higher education; and for-profit organizations or businesses.
- ENR’s preference is to work with non-profit entities.
- For-profit entities should be aware that their applications may be subject to additional review following the panel selection process and that the Department of State generally prohibits profit under its assistance awards to for-profit or commercial organizations.
- Profit is defined as any amount in excess of allowable direct and indirect costs.
- The allowance of costs incurred by commercial organizations is determined in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) at 48 CFR 30, Cost Accounting Standards Administration, and 48 CFR 31 Contract Cost Principles and Procedures.
- Project income earned by the recipient must be deducted from the total project allowable cost in determining the net allowable costs on which the federal share of costs is based.
