The International Renaissance Foundation (IRF) in partnership and with the financial support of the international Protestant development and aid agency in Germany “Bread for the World” (Brot für die Welt) announce a competition for participation in the Laboratory of Sustainability – a program for the development of public organizations, which includes training, mentoring, networking and institutional support for active wartime teams.
Purpose
- To strengthen the role of public organizations in communities through institutional support, mutual learning, mentoring and strengthening their resilience.
What the program provides?
- The opportunity to compete for a grant for institutional development (approximately 2 million hryvnias). This funding will help your organization to strengthen and expand its activities.
- Institutional growth. You will learn the basics of good NGO governance and functioning and be able to develop and implement policies and procedures that will make your organization stronger.
- Learning. You will be able to increase your level of knowledge in such areas as project management, communication with the public, authorities and local self-government, tools for working with communities.
- Mentorship. You will be able to communicate freely and ask for help from the most experienced experts who will help make your organization stronger.
- Team support. The program creates opportunities for effective recovery of the team and care for the mental health of the Laboratory participants.
- Networking and interaction. You will be able to communicate and exchange experiences with similar organizations from other regions, helping each other to grow.
- Impact on the community. Improve the quality of life and sustainability of your community through new approaches and innovations.
Duration
- 18 months
Eligibility Criteria
- Civil society organizations from Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions can participate in the Laboratory. Preference will be given to organizations with clearly defined focus activities, stable organizational structure, and active pages in social networks.
- Civil society organizations that are registered in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine and have at least 1 year of project implementation experience and actively work in communities in war conditions.
- Organizations with a team of at least 3-5 people (permanent staff) who work harmoniously and efficiently.
- Organizations that have a clearly defined purpose and directions of activity and publicly communicate their work through social networks or other information platforms;
- Organizations that have experience of cooperation with local self-government bodies or a vision of how to build it, and understand the importance of this cooperation for the development of the community.
- The competitive selection of organizations participating in the program will take place in two stages:
- Filling out the application form and its assessment by the competition commission;
- Interview with selected teams.
