Deadline: 8-May-25
The “la Caixa” Foundation is pleased to announce the Call for Social Projects to collaborate with social organizations developing projects in Extremadura to promote initiatives aimed specifically at people in situations of social vulnerability, with the goal of improving their quality of life and promoting equal opportunities.
The call also seeks to advance the construction of a more just, inclusive, equitable, and supportive society by fostering social cohesion.
The call reinforces and complements the lines of action that the ”la Caixa” Foundation develops in the social sphere through the CaixaProinfancia Program, the Incorpora Program, the Senior Citizens Program, and the Comprehensive Care Program for People with Advanced Diseases.
Areas of Action
- Elderly people
- In this area, they aim to promote projects that foster self-governance and empowerment among older adults, based on a holistic, personalized approach that connects with the environment and the community.
- They also promote projects that support older adults in preventing frailty and supporting both their functional and cognitive autonomy. In this regard, it is important to promote the development of meaningful relationships and combat unwanted loneliness and social isolation; facilitate increased well-being and improved emotional management among older adults; and foster the development of personal potential that enhances each person’s life plan.
- Disability, mental disorder or illness
- In this area, they aim to promote support for people with disabilities and/or mental disorders by enhancing empowerment, promoting personal autonomy and/or independent living, and supporting activities of daily living. They also seek to eliminate all types of barriers to socialization and social inclusion throughout people’s lives. An intersectional, person-centered approach is especially relevant to addressing the multiple vulnerabilities that people with disabilities and/or mental disorders often experience.
- They also seek projects that foster the creation of formal and informal community support networks that promote personal relationships, social participation, and improved well-being, as well as prevention and intervention in situations of unwanted loneliness
- Poverty and social inclusion
- This area aims, first and foremost, to contribute to breaking the cycle of poverty and its chronicity by empowering children and adolescents and strengthening families as the focus of socio-educational action. This includes projects for the social and educational development of children and adolescents in vulnerable situations, with special emphasis on social support and/or mentoring. They highlight projects for early childhood (0-3 years) that place the child at the center; projects that seek to reduce early school leaving, with special attention to dropout rates throughout compulsory and post-compulsory secondary education at times and in environments of maximum vulnerability; and inclusive socio-educational projects that encompass sports, arts, or culture and are integrated with support for academic success.
- Secondly, this area aims to promote projects that facilitate the comprehensive development and social inclusion of people at risk of poverty and/or exclusion, promoting their capabilities and providing them with new opportunities.
