Applications are open for “The Western Balkans Local Democracy Program (Reload)” which is implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in six countries of the region: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Serbia.
The project started with implementation on 1 February 2017 and during the next three years the goal of the project is to strengthen partnership between local self-government units (JLS) and civil society in the Western Balkans region through the development and dissemination of a transparent approach to the financing of CSOs from the budget JLS, in order to address community needs.
The project is complementary to the results and good practices of multi-year project interventions in BiH, Strengthening Local Democracy – LOD project, which is also a model that will be offered for use in other countries of the region.
The total value of the Reload project is € 10 million, and is funded by the European Union (EU) from the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance, The Civil Society Support Program amounts to 8.5 million Euros, while the rest will be co-financed by UNDP offices operating in the Western Balkans and Partner JLS.

- capacity building of JLS representatives to be based on needs assessment
- 5 out of 20 selected partner JLS will receive support in establishing a civil forum tailored to the needs and specific circumstances and will, together with the selected CSO, improve the decision-making process
- promotion of its good practices and procedures at the level of the entire BiH but also in the Western Balkans region.
