The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking concept papers from qualified Non-U.S. organizations for its program entitled “New Youth Development Activity.
USAID Kyrgyz Republic’s overarching goal for this funding opportunity is to enable young people in targeted communities to more actively and positively participate in civic, social, and economic life and contribute to the development of their families and communities.
Objectives
- Individual Level:
- Youth develop relevant life and professional skills that enable them be civically engaged citizens, leaders, and economic actors in their communities.
- Youth acquire more inclusive and positive civic identity and values that motivate them to participate more actively and demonstrate leadership in their communities to address challenges of local concern.
- Community Level:
- Opportunities created to increase youth engagement in local communities, including through partnerships with local government.
- Private sector opportunities created to enable youth to develop their professional skills and contribute to their families and communities.
- Improved public image of youth in targeted communities.
- System Level:
- The evidence base about the challenges facing youth and the policy responses that are most effective is expanded and accessible to government and non-government actors.
- Public, private, and other civic actors identify policies and strengthen local systems to expand youth’s assets, agency, opportunities for contribution, or otherwise address the enabling environment for youth engagement.
Funding Information
USAID intends to provide up to $5,000,000 in total USAID funding over a five year period.
Eligibility Criteria
- This program is restricted to Non-US, local organizations registered in the Kyrgyz Republic.
- USAID welcomes Concept Papers from organizations which have not previously received financial assistance from USAID.
- Applicants must have established financial management, monitoring and evaluation processes, internal control systems, and policies and procedures that comply with established U.S. Government standards, laws, and regulations.
