Celebrating International Youth Day with these Inspiring Grants for Youths and Youth-led NGOs

Today, August 12 is International Youth Day!

Young people are the social actors of change and progress. They are a crucial segment of nation’s development, therefore, their contribution is highly needed. Young people aren’t just the leaders of tomorrow – they’re making huge changes to the world around them.

As youth are the leaders of tomorrow and is leading the change, they should be given a chance to take an active part in the decision-making of local, national and global levels. Understanding the fact that the young people can immensely contribute to the society, International Youth Day ensures that they have the ability, skill, motivation and recognition to continue to do so.

International Youth Day focuses on the rights of these young people to have full access to education, adequate healthcare, employment opportunities, financial services and full participation in public life. This year, the theme of International Youth Day, “Transforming education”, highlights efforts to make education more inclusive and accessible for all youth, including efforts by youth themselves.

Education and Knowledge are central to the development and improvement of lives of young people globally. It is the medium for youth with the help of which they can easily realize their potentialities and thus can contribute effectively in the upliftment of society.

Not only this, proper attention must be given to the increased participation of marginalized youth to ensure that they acquire the knowledge, capacities, and skills needed to fulfil their role as agents of change.

To enhance the potential capacity of youth, several NGOs work on different youth development programs where they can use their creativity, knowledge, skills and potentialities. International Youth Day 2019 will examine how Governments, young people and youth-led and youth-focused organizations, as well as other stakeholders, are transforming education and how these efforts are contributing to the achievement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Therefore, to assist NGOs better, we have compiled some open opportunities for youth development below.
